Guests at Jessica Alba's baby shower were all given leather birth bracelets, reports Bang Media International.

According to the source, friends and family of the actress were all told to put on the bracelets straight away.

"Jessica made sure everyone was wearing a leather bracelet before they all launched into a 'life, love, health' prayer," said an onlooker. "She then told them they aren't allowed to take the bracelets [off] until the baby is born."

The 26-year-old reportedly told baby shower guests that she is expecting a girl, but presents were mostly chosen in neural yellow or green shades, the source adds.

According to E! News, Alba received a range of gifts from luxurious prams to baskets of Dr Seuss children's books.

Guests at the Ever After baby shower event included Kim Kardashian, Rashida Jones and Alba's fiance Cash Warren.

Alba, star of Fantastic Four, was number one on FHM's 100 Sexiest Women In The World 2007 poll.
