Anniversary gifts for Britain's longest married couple
29 May
Britain's longest married couple swapped anniversary gifts over the weekend, reports the Telegraph.
Frank and Anita Milford have been married for 80 years and therefore did not have many crazy party ideas in mind for the celebration.
They told the newspaper that they were simply going to spend their anniversary together, with "no big fuss".
Mrs Milford, 99, said that the key to a successful marriage is sharing a little kiss and cuddle before bed every night.
She recommended that young couples make sure they make time for romance every day.
"To win over your sweetheart you need a dose of old-fashioned chivalry and don't let your standards slip," added 100-year-old Mr Milford. "We do everything together even after nearly 80 years.
The couple met at a YMCA dance in 1926 and wed after two years in east Cornwall. Their two children, Marie and Frank, are now in their seventies.
On their 78th wedding anniversary, Mr and Mrs Milford told the Telegraph that a healthy marriage should feature a little argument every day.
