Brit actress Billie Piper is now the proud mum of a healthy baby boy, it has been announced.

The 26-year-old former Doctor Who star gave birth to son Winston James Fox in a private London hospital yesterday, with husband Laurence Fox by her side.

Baby Winston was delivered by caesarean section after 26 hours of labour, weighing 6lb 11oz.

"The emergency caesarean only took about 20 minutes," the new dad told reporters.

"Billie is happy. Of course she is, she's a mum. I am tired but not as tired as her - I am a proud father."

Former pop star, Billie, and hubbie Laurence, 29, celebrated their wedding albums on New Year's Eve 2007.

Radio presenter and Billie's ex-husband, Chris Evans, visited the happy parents on hearing news of the birth.

Chris and new wife Natasha Shishmanian are also expecting their first child together early next year.
