Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich has splashed out over £200,000 on birthday gifts and party ideas for his daughter's 16th last week, revealed the Daily Mail.

His lucky daughter Anna was treated to a huge celebration at West End club Paper, the newspaper reported.

She had obviously been looking forward to turning 16 in style, as the young Godolphin & Latymer school pupil wrote on her Facebook page: "This is going to be the best party ever!"

Mr Abromovich allegedly paid out £120,000 to hire the venue and an additional £70,000 in non-alcoholic refreshments for the teenage guests, including banana daquiris, mojitos and bellinis.

Channel 4's T4 presenter Alexa Chung provided the music, alongside Mercury Prize winners The Klaxons at a cost of £8,000.

The Chelsea boss also paid an additional £20,000 to create a dressing up area for the guests complete with hats, guitars and a wind machine.

Such outrageously extravagant party ideas may be out of reach for the average father, but according to Forbes magazine last year, Mr Abromovich's net worth was $18.7 billion (£9.55 billion).
