American actress Claire Danes has confirmed the news that she and boyfriend, actor Hugh Dancy are set to tie the knot.

A representative for the 29-year-old Romeo + Juliet star told People magazine that the celebrity couple are now engaged and planning wedding ideas after over a year of dating.

Claire and 33-year-old Hugh met as co-stars on the set of 2007 movie Evening and are often spotted together at red carpet events including the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles.

English actor, Hugh, is currently starring in new release Confessions of a Shopaholic alongside Australian beauty Isla Fisher.

Previously commenting on his plans to co-star with fiancee Claire on another project, the Savage Grace star told US Weekly: "Never say never. There's no list of people I wouldn't work with, up to and including Claire. Obviously, I respect her as an actress immensely."

The couple has yet to set a date for the big day.
