Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney turned 47 this week and was treated to some musical birthday gifts, it has been revealed.

According to media reports, singers John Mayer and Black Eyed Peas' Fergie serenaded the Oceans 11 star at a private early birthday party on Monday night (May 5th).

Clooney co-hosted the fashion Oscars on the evening of his actual birthday (May 6th) with actress Julia Roberts and designer Giorgio Armani.

However, the actor clearly had party ideas of his own as he went straight on to a private do at Bungalow 8.

Guests included his girlfriend Sarah Larson, David Beckham and the two singers, who serenaded Clooney with You Make Me Feel So Young by Frank Sinatra.


Nelson Mandela, who turns 90 this year, is to receive numerous musical birthday gifts at his Hyde Park concert in the summer.

It has recently been revealed that Amy Winehouse is among the list of acts to perform.
