A Gloucestershire couple have come up with some party ideas to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary.

The Citizen newspaper reports that family and friends will gather to join Ivor and Marjorie Bace for their big day.

Marjorie, who is 78 years old, told the newspaper that there will be a party taking place at Harwick Village Hall where 80 guests will gather for a sit-down meal.

"There are so many people coming because all of our grandchildren have girlfriends and boyfriends. We're both really looking forward to it," she added.

Commenting on their marriage and the secrets behind its longevity, she indicated that today's couples may want too much. All she and her husband had were "each other" and that was apparently enough.

Over the period of their 60-year marriage Ivor and Marjorie have reached a number of landmark anniversaries, including silver at 25 years, ruby at 40 years and golden at 50 years.
