Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday and is reportedly "doing great".

This is the first child for both the X-Men star and model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and is sure to yield a truly cherished baby album.

Berry, who reportedly took 35 home pregnancy kits before she believed the result, said previously that being pregnant was great.

She told In Style magazine last month: "I may only do this one time, so I want this moment to be as big as it can be.

"I want the biggest bang I can possibly imagine."

The baby is reportedly 7 lb 4 oz and although a first name has not yet been revealed, the Daily Mail states that she will take Aubry's last name.

Hollywood is likely to be full of celebrity naming ceremonies and christenings at the moment, with Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera all recently giving birth.
