Hundreds attend Irish Easter party
28 Mar
Athea's Con Colbert Community Hall played host to a fundraising party on Easter Monday, with hundreds of guests flocking to the venue.
The aim of the event, which brought a number of party ideas to one location, was to raise money for the hall, reports the Limerick Leader.
Some of the activities that took place included children's games and face painting, while there was also a bouncy castle to entertain the young ones.
Committee member Fionnuala Fitzgerald suggested to the newspaper that the day was a success, saying: "We haven't counted the money yet, but we know that the day went well.
"Tremendous help in organising things came from the parents of the local schoolchildren and we had plenty of help on the day."
The Spalding Guardian also reported on local Easter celebrations this week, stating that there were a number of parties across the Lincolnshire town of South Holland. Schools, shops and nursing homes all had a number of party ideas which entertained the community.
