A special cake and a lingering kiss were just some of Samantha Ronson's birthday gifts from girlfriend Lindsay Lohan this week.

People magazine reported that the couple spent the night before Sam's birthday (August 6th) at the Crown Bar in LA, where the 22-year-old DJ had to work.

However, spinning the decks did not get in the way of Lindsay's party ideas for her lover, as when the clock struck midnight, the actress silenced the music and made everybody sing Happy Birthday.

After presenting her with a cake and a kiss, Lindsay joined Sam in the DJ booth and proceeded to take pictures - perhaps for a special birthday photo album.

For Lindsay's birthday in June, one of her birthday gifts included an £11,000 Cartier ring, according to OK! magazine.

If reports are to be believed, the couple are planning a wedding later this year suggesting the present had in fact been an engagement ring.
