Teenage singing and acting sensation Miley Cyrus has been handed the keys to her 16th birhday gift - a hand-me down Porsche.

The Hannah Montana star, who celebrated her landmark birthday last week, is currently fitting in driving lessons between her work commitments, which have recently included the filming of Bolt alongside John Travolta.

As such, she was keen to land a dream sports car as a birthday gift, though she was forced to make-do with her mother's old runaround.

Speaking to the US show Extras Miley explained: "I do have a car. I took my mum's old car. I didn't get the one I wanted, but I got the old car which wasn't so bad because it was a Porsche. I suppose it was a pretty good hand me down."

The birthday gift tops off a good couple of weeks for the teen queen, having recently learned that she is up for two Golden Globe awards.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Angelina Jolie intends to give her partner Brad Pittt a new motorbike for his birthday.
