'New and snazzy' baby shower ideas
20 May
Baby shower traditions should be replaced with "snazzy" and modern party ideas, it has been claimed.
Speaking to The Nest Baby, Tina La Morte of wedding planning firm ohsofab.com explained that traditional pink and blue themes should be replaced with new and exciting colour combinations like periwinkle and cream or paisley and pink.
Baby shower guests could be given little fairy cakes or milk bottles filled with different types of milk, she said, claiming that these sort of treats really go down well.
Also, Ms La Morte advised people attending a shower to perhaps bring something other than the traditional baby album and treat the mum-to-be instead.
Massages, champagne or a basket of pampering goodies would be much appreciated by the pregnant lady, she remarked.
However, there is an emerging trend of fathers-to-be and even children attending the baby shower, said Ms La Morte, which she claimed was not a positive thing.
"It's one of the last time you have when it's all about you. It's your last time to shine," she commented.
A report by cahoot recently revealed that nearly 2.3 million British women have attended a women-only baby shower in the past five years.
