American actor Patrick Swayze has renewed his wedding vows to wife Lisa Niemi at an intimate ceremony in New Mexico, reports reveal.

The couple reportedly decided to reaffirm their marriage vows in celebration of their 33-year-old wedding albums.

"We did it very Prince Charming and Snow White. I rode in on a white stallion," he told Barbara Walters. "It was like a fairytale, one of the happiest days ever."

Patrick, 56, and wife Lisa, 54, tied the knot back in 1975, five years after they first met.

In January 2008, the Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been battling the illness for the past year.

Commenting on his health, Patrick told the US TV presenter: "You can bet that I'm going through hell. And I've only seen the beginning of it."

The former Hollywood heartthrob is currently starring in new American police drama, The Beast, which is due to air in the US next week.
