Peter Phillips and his Canadian girlfriend Autumn Kelly have revealed the ins and outs of their relationship to a glossy magazine, reports the Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, the son of Princess Anne and his fiance signed a £500,000 deal with Hello! before their wedding.

In the interview, Ms Kelly explained that she originally had no idea that her partner was a Royal and when it was revealed she felt "kind of scared".

Mr Phillips told the magazine that after disclosing his wedding ideas to his girlfriend's father, he intended to propose in a hot air balloon but unfortunately the flight was cancelled due to rain.

"Peter threw my coat at me and said we were taking the dog for a walk," stated Ms Kelly. "He went down on one knee in the downpour and produced this ring! I looked horrible in my wellies with wet hair."

Mr Phillips recently held his stag do on the Isle of Wight with cousins Princes William and Harry.
