Princes 'celebrate promotions'

The royal family certainly have things to celebrate this week as Prince Harry has been promoted to a lieutenant.

Harry, now known as Officer Cadet Wales, has completed two years in the army and has therefore qualified for the title, seeing his salary rise from £20,173 to £24,247.

The 23-year-old is now on equal ranking with older brother Prince William who was awarded his Royal Air Force wings last week, meaning he is now known as Flying Officer Wales.

It has also been claimed there may be royal wedding ideas in the pipeline, as Prince William's girlfriend made a public appearance at the ceremony.

In addition to congratulating the two young princes, the royal family will gather at Windsor Castle this weekend for a christening.

James Alexander Philip Theor, second child of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, will wear a hand-made replica of Queen Victoria's daughter's gown.

The gown was worn as many royal christenings and although now preserved, has been copied under commissioning of the Queen, reports the Daily Telegraph.ADNFCR-1470-ID-18558389-ADNFCR
