A new report has suggested that giving out custom-made golf balls for anniversary gifts or Valentine's Day presents may be a good option.

The American Chronicle reports that consumers can hand them out to loved ones - complete with personal messages of love - or businesses can celebrate their anniversaries by distributing the sports items complete with company name and logo.

All the major brands provide this gift option and the publication states that the products may even be ideal to hand out to guests at weddings.

Commenting on the effect it could have on relationships, the news provider also indicates that if a woman who loves golf was to get this present for Valentine's Day, it "would make [her and her partner's] relationship better and be a perfect gift".

Large sales volumes this Valentine's Day helped boost the retail sector at the start of this year, according to the Office for National Statistics.
