Royals unveil railway replica on anniversary

Prince Charles was given particularly special wedding anniversary gifts yesterday (April 9th), as he unveiled a replica of a Victorian railway carriage.

The carriage is an exact copy of the one used by Queen Victoria to travel between Windsor and the Scottish village of Ballater and is part of a £450,000 project to restore the station.

"I have incredibly special memories of arriving and departing from here as a child," said the Prince. "It is wonderful to see it brought back to life."

The unveiling marked the third wedding anniversary between the Prince and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who both dressed in tartan for the special occasion.

Well-wishers gave Camilla anniversary gifts of bouquets of flowers to congratulate her on the day.

Commenting on the couple, a senior royal aide said: "Their marriage has, without a shadow of a doubt, made the prince happier than anyone has seen him in years.

The royal couple were married at a civil ceremony at the Guildhall in Windsor in 2005.ADNFCR-1470-ID-18546528-ADNFCR
