Uma Thurman may have only announced her engagement, but the star was quick with her party ideas, reports the Daily Mail.

The actress revealed her and Swiss financier Arpad Busson's wedding ideas last week and was seen with an engagement ring "so huge that she can't fit it through the sleeve of her coat", an onlooker told the New York Daily News.

Among those to join in with Uma and Arpad's party ideas were Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, and Sting with his wife Trudi.

Bob Geldo and girlfriend Jeanne Marine, Claudia Schiffer, Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, former Chelsea manager Avram Grant and film producer Matthew Vaughn also turned up at Arpad's Kensington home to celebrate with the couple.

Artist Damien Hirst, who arrived with wife Maia, was spotted entering the party with a large box which may have contained an engagement gift for the pair, the Daily Mail states.
